The Chamber Room

The Council Chamber Room was designed in the likeness of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The room has a colonial motif and was once used as the meeting room for the Bangor Borough Council. A copper inset dome draws elegance to the center of the room and is enhanced by a stained glass panel. The original mahogany desks used by former councilmen are now being utilized as bases for display cases.

An original council chamber chair sits in prominence at the front of the room. Currently the chamber room serves as a meeting room for the Heritage Center in addition to a presentation room where visitors can view a 20-minute video highlighting the museum and as a display room for monthly artifact exhibits. The Chamber Room is housed on the second floor and is handicap accessible.
